Child and Youth Support Program

This program teaches skill development, transition support and navigation for children and youth who may be experiencing significant difficulties related to their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Some skill areas for children and youth to develop include; coping skills, pro-social interactions, job search, independence skills and accessing and connecting to other community resources. Skills learned will enhance the child/youth’s social and emotional life skills and improve the quality of their relationships at home, at school, at work and in the community.


Who can Access the program:

You live in Fort St John or within a 70-km radius
You are 5 – 19 years of age; and referred by an MCFD Social Worker.

The program offers:

  • Unconditional support
  • Collaboration with individualized and tailored service
  • Support for life transitions
  • Skill building for making good choices and setting goals
  • Personal Safety & how to respect and set boundaries
  • Physical and Recreational activities
  • Mentoring and assistance with education and career goals
