Position: Bookkeeper

Qualifications:  Grade 12 and post-secondary certificates or diplomas in related payroll, bookkeeping, and office procedures with 2 years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.  Lesser qualified applicants may be considered.

Duties:  Processess accounts receivable and other assigned bookkeeping duties including: processing day to day, monthly and year end transactions.  Orients staff to online training system, in-house training modules and tracks training.  Ensures required safety drills are completed at all sites on an annual basis.  Delivers notices on occasion.  Provides reception relief and other duties as required.

Job Information: Must be computer literate. Knowledge of payroll software, Microsoft Office and Accpac or other accounting software required.  Famliarity with a multi-line phone system preferred.  Must have a reliable vehicle and a clean driver's abstract.

Hours of Work: 8 hours per week - over 2 - 4 days

Rate of Pay:  $17.71 - $20.62 per hour

The Society

Community Bridge is an accredited non-profit organization established in Fort St. John in 1974 and currently offering 17 counselling and social support programs in the Fort St. John area, 5 in the Dawson Creek area and 2 in the Fort Nelson area.  Community Bridge works in collabortion with federal and provincial funding bodies, many local business and partner agencies to strengthen and enhance social services in our communities.

Position Description

We are seeking an Executive Director for Community Bridge and the North Peace Community Housing Society.  The Executive Director reports to a Board of Directors.  The position is responsible for executing the strategic plan while overseeing the day to day operations of the society which include program delivery, human resources, finance and adminstration.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership ability, financial and business management experience, including labor relations in a unionized environment.  The position is accountable to ensure the progarms are delivered and maintained within accreditation standards, while ensuring strong relationships with the funding and community partners.  Extensive experience in social services is required with proven ability to achieve excellence in client service and provide inspired and innovative leadership to a team of approximately 50 energetic, professional and caring staff.

The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and sustain effective working relationships with staff, funders, board members and community stakeholders.  A strong work ethic, decision making and problem-solving skills, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Locations 2:  Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge and areas and Aboriginal Communities

Qualifications:  Master's Degree in a Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or related Degree.  Eligibility for registration.  Specialized training and experience in delivering trauma informed counselling.  Two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.  Experience working with Aboriginal communities is preferred.

Duties:  Provides one-to-one theraputic interventions to non-adjudicated perpetrators of domestic violence.  Co-facilitates group counselling for perpetrators who use violence, physical, psychological and/or sexual, or controlling behaviors within their intimate relationships and co-facilitates a group for the partners.  Provides risk assessments, recommendations and safety planning support regarding the family to assist MCFD in case planning.  Serves as a collaborative member of the Integrated Case Assessment Team in highest risk cases.  Has a feminist and trauma based perspective.  Maintains case notes, client records, forms, statistical information and reports as required.

Other Job Information:  Must be prepared to have flexible hours to accommodate travel, evening or weekend sessions.  Some travel to the communities may be required.

Hours of Work:  15 hours per week.

Vehicle Use:  You must have a valid driver's license. This position requires that you use your personal vehicle for travel in the region as needed.  Milage to be reimbursed. 

Hourly Rate:  $29.91 - $34.88 according to experience, full benefits and pension upon completion of probation.

Position: Sexual Abuse Intervention Counsellor - Permanent Part Time

Location: Fort St. John

Qualifications:  Master's degree in a related field, plus 2 years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  The "Graduate Certificate in Complex Trauma and Child Sexual Abuse Intervention" from the Justice Institute would be an asset

Duties:  Provides specialized assessment and treatment services to children and adolescents who have been sexually abused and their families.  Also provides services to children under 12 who have sexual behaviour problems.  Consultation and education will also be provided on an as needed basis.

Other Job Information:  You must have a valid driver's license.  Ability to operate a PC and related software

Hours of Work:  20 hours per week

Hourly Rate:  $29.1 - $34.88 depending on experience with full benefits upon completion of probation

Position:  Teaching Home Support Worker - Full Time Permanent

Location:  Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge

Qualifications:  Diploma in a related human/social service field.  One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Duties:  Provide teaching and assistance for activities such as cooking, grooming, money management, shopping and laundry to families referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.   Does cleaning, extensive cleaning and disposal, major clean-up of the home interior including moving furniture and oven cleaning.  Assists families to function more independantly in their own homes through the teaching of daily life skills.  Participates in the development of service plans, provides progress notes and other required documentation.  Liaises with other community agencies as needed.

Other Job Information:  Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on the client's needs.  Evening and weekend work may be required.  May provide transportation for clients.

Hours of Work:  35 hours per week.

Vehicle Use:  You must have a valid BC driver's license, and a reliable vehicle.  Annual vehicle inspections are required.

Hourly Rate:  $17.47 - $20.34 depending on experience.  Full benefits including pension after successful probation.
