STOP Clinical Counsellor (Stop Taking It Out on Your Partner)

(Casual 2 positions – 1 male counsellor, 1 female counsellor to co-facilitate a group for men and a group for their partners)

(176 hours per facilitator over approximately 16 weeks)

Date: June 13, 2017

Position Title: STOP Clinical Counsellor (Stop Taking It Out on Your Partner)

Program: STOP Domestic Violence Prevention Program

Location: Fort St. John

Qualifications: Master’s Degree in a related human/social services field.          

Two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Duties: Co-facilitates group counselling for men who use violence, physical, psychological and/ or sexual, or controlling behaviors within their intimate relationships and co-facilitates a group for the men’s partners. Has a feminist and trauma based perspective. Maintains case notes, client records, forms and statistical information. Ability to operate a PC and related software.

Other Job Information: This job will require evening and or weekend hours.

Vehicle Use: You must have a valid driver’s license.

Hourly Rate $29.50 - $34.40 depending on experience

Teaching Home Support Worker

Full Time Permanent

Date: June 26, 2017                              

Location: Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge

Qualifications: Diploma in a related human/social service field. One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Duties: Provide teaching and assistance for activities such as cooking, grooming, money management, shopping, and laundry to families referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Does cleaning, including extensive cleaning and disposal, major clean-up of the home interior including moving furniture and oven cleaning. Assists families to function more independently in their own homes through the teaching of daily life skills. Participates in the development of service plans, provides progress notes and other required documentation. Liaises with other community agencies as needed.                          

Other Job Information: Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on the client’s needs. Evening and weekend work may be required. May provide transportation for clients.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week.

Vehicle Use: You must have a valid BC driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle. Annual vehicle inspections are required.

Hourly Rate: $17.47 - $20.34 depending on experience Full benefits including pension after successful probation.

Family Preservation and Youth Support Counsellor

Temporary Full Time (until the return of the incumbent)

Date: July 3rd, 2017            

Location: Dawson Creek

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related human/social service field. Two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Duties: Provides support, guidance and counselling to families and children and youth deemed to be at risk by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.  Addresses issues related to family/individual functioning.  Provides skill building in areas of parenting skills, anger management, or self-management techniques. Provides life skills training for youth and assistance in finding accommodation, employment etc. Provides case management services when required.

Other Job Information: Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on the client’s needs. Some evening work likely.

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week.

Vehicle Use: You must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Annual vehicle inspections are required.

Hourly Rate: $25.74 -29.98 full benefits and pension after completion of probation

Location: Community Bridge - Fort St John

Qualifications: Grade 10 - One (1) month recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Duties: Performs routine cleaning and minor maintenance of building and grounds. Cleans washes and disinfects building areas such as walls, windows, floor, washrooms, by such methods as dusting vacuuming, sweeping, wet mopping. Collects and disposes of refuse. Performs spot cleans as necessary. Secures building..                                              

Other Job Information: Work will need to be done between 9PM and 7AM Sunday to Thursday

Hours of Work: 15 hours per week (approx. 3 hours per evening/morning)

Vehicle Use: N/A

Hourly Rate: $14.16 to $16.50 depending on experience

Closing Date: July 21, 2017   4:30 pm

Start Date: August 1. 2017
