Position Title: Mother Goose, Daddy and Me & Event Program Coordinator - Part Time

Program: Parenting Programs

Location: Fort St. John

Qualifications: Diploma in a related human/social services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One (1) years recent related experience. Parent Child Mother Goose Program Training required.

Duties: Plans, implements and oversees the day to day activities of the programs. Maintains related records, monitors program expenditures. Promotes and delivers Parent-Child Mother Goose Program, 10 Daddy and Me Events, 1 Families in Motion Event and 1 FSJ Loves Families Event.

Other Job Information: This job may require flexibility of hours to meet individual and Agency demand.  May occasionally involve evening and weekend work.

Vehicle Use: Access to a reliable vehicle is required.

Hours of Work: 320 hours program coordination plus, 420 (12 hours per week) Mother Goose facilitation when group is running,  60 hours (10 Daddy and Me Events)

Rate of pay: $23.83 - $27.74

Program: Baby’s Best Chance Program

Location: Fort St John and Dawson Creek BC

Qualifications: Diploma in a related human/social services field.  One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Duties: Promotes positive health practices that will contribute to the health of newborns through, outreach, education and support to at risk perinatal women and teens. Knowledge of First Nations and Metis traditions an asset. Skills in counselling, group facilitation and co-ordination are assets.

Other Job Information: Must be computer literate. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Weekly travel to Dawson Creek required.

Hours of Work: 20 hours per week

Rate of pay: $19.39 - $22.58

Program: Family Preservation

Location:  Ft. St. John

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related human/social service field. Two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Duties: Provides support, guidance and counselling to families and children and youth deemed to be at risk by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.  Addresses issues related to family/individual functioning.  Provides skill building in areas of parenting skills, anger management, or self-management techniques. Provides case management services when required.

Other Job Information: Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on the client’s needs.

Hours of Work: 10.5 hours per week.

Vehicle Use: You must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Annual vehicle inspections are required at employer’s expense.

Hourly Rate: $26.75 - $31.16

Position Title: Family Advancement Intake Counsellor- Temporary Part- Time (Until return of the incumbent)

Program: Family Advancement

Location: Fort St. John

Qualifications: A degree in social work, counselling or a related field. Two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Duties: Provides counselling to school age children and their families. Assists families in meeting the developmental needs of their children and to strengthen and utilize their network of social supports. This position will also be responsible for intake for several children serving programs.

Other Job Information: You must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to operate a PC and related software.

Hours of Work: 26.25 hours per week.

Vehicle Use: You must have a valid driver’s license.

Hourly Rate: $26.75 - $31.16 According to experience. Full benefits after successful probation.

Position Title: Teaching Home Support Worker- Full Time Permanent

Location: Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge

Qualifications: Diploma in a related human/social service field. One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

Duties: Provide teaching and assistance for activities such as cooking, grooming, money management, shopping, and laundry to families referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Does cleaning, including extensive cleaning and disposal, major clean-up of the home interior including moving furniture and oven cleaning. Assists families to function more independently in their own homes through the teaching of daily life skills. Participates in the development of service plans, provides progress notes and other required documentation. Liaises with other community agencies as needed.

Other Job Information: Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on the client’s needs. Evening and weekend work may be required. May provide transportation for clients.

Hours of Work: 35  hours per week.

Vehicle Use: You must have a valid BC driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle. Annual vehicle inspections are required.

Hourly Rate: $18.15 – 21.14 depending on experience Full benefits including pension after successful probation.

Duties: Provides positive interactions and role modelling through facilitated group and individual youth centered activities to develop social and emotional life skills for MCFD referred youth. Provides skill building in areas of making responsible choices, accepting responsibility, anger management, goal setting, personal safety etc. Develops individual plans to address unique needs. Integrates youth into other community services and recreational activities.

Other Job Information: Participate in physical activities/sports with youth. Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on the client’s needs. Some evening work likely.

Hours of Work: 12 hours per week.

Vehicle Use: Transports youth when required. Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Annual vehicle inspections are required at employer’s cost.

Hourly Rate: $19.39 -22.58 per hour

Position:  Sexual Abuse Intervention Counsellor - Full Time Regular

Location:  Fort St. John

Qualifiications:  Master's degree in a related field, plus 2 years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  The "Graduate Certificate in Complex Trauma and Child Sexual Abuse Intervention" from the Justice Institute would be an asset, however this training may be provided.

Duties:  Provides specialized assessment and treatment services to children and adolescents who have been sexually abused and their families.  Also provides services to children under 12 who have sexual behaviour problems.  Consultation and education will also be provided on an as needed basis.

Other Job Information:  You must have a valid driver's license.  Ability to operate a PC and related software.

Hours of Work:  35 hours per week

Hourly Rate:  $30.66 - $35.75 according to experience- full benefits and pension after completion of probation.
