SCHEDULE: Tuesdays & Wednesdays

LOCATION: Fort St John

Qualifications

Diploma in a related human/social services field. One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Duties

Promotes positive health practices that will contribute to the health of newborns through, outreach, education and support to at risk perinatal women and teens. Knowledge of First Nations and Metis traditions an asset. Skills in counselling, group facilitation and co-ordination are assets. Knowledge about baby development.  Ability to plan meals, grocery shopping, food prep and cooking each week.  Knowledge in Canada’s food guide.  Has Food Safe or is willing to take the course and provide knowledge of safe food handling to Coordinator.  Group set-up, ability to move/set up tables and chairs.  Ability to lift car seats and up to 30lbs, ability to carry 30lbs to the second level in the building to assist clients.  Able to move through the two levels of the building to assist the clients.  Knowledge in Car Seat safety.

Other Job Information

Must be computer literate. Must have a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to transport clients to and from group.  Mileage is reimbursed according to BCGEU collective agreement standards.

Hourly Rate

$27.54 - $31.61 depending on experience.

This is a unionized position with the BCGEU.
