Who Is This Program For?
This program teaches skill development, transition support and navigation for children and youth who may be experiencing significant difficulties related to their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
What Services Are Provided?
Some skill areas for children and youth to develop include:
- coping skills
- pro-social interactions
- job search
- independence skills
- assistance with accessing and connecting to other community resources
Skills learned will enhance the child/youth’s social and emotional life skills and improve the quality of their relationships at home, at school, at work and in the community.
The Program Offers
- Unconditional support.
- Communication and self-regulation skills
- Support for life transitions.
- Skill building for making good choices and setting goals.
- Personal safety & how to respect and set boundaries.
- Physical and recreational activities.
- Mentoring and assistance with educational and career goals.
- Collaboration with individualized and tailored service.
Who Can Access the Services?
- You live in Fort St John or within a 70km radius
- You are 5 - 19 years of age and are referred by an MCFD Social Worker
