Position Title: Finance Assistant
Classification: Admin Assist 4 & Bookkeeper
Program: Administration
Qualifications: Grade 12 and post-secondary courses of up to one (2) years in areas such
as bookkeeping, payroll and/or office procedures
Duties: Greets clients/visitors/tenants/employees to the organization in a professional and
friendly manner. Provides administrative support to management and other staff. Performs data entry functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, keeping track of reporting due dates and reporting to Financial Administrator, gathering data for financial reporting, generating financial reports, imputing information into databases and contact lists; maintains and updates filing, inventory, mailing lists and/or other records either manually or using a computer. Perform bookkeeping duties such as coding, recording, posting and processing day to day transactions and processes payroll. Maintains and updates accounting records. Sorts and distributes incoming mail and processes outgoing mail.
Job information: Must be computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Familiarity with a multi-line phone system preferred. Ability to organize work and carry out the duties of the position with independence. Good time management skills. Ability to interact effectively with all staff and the public. Training will be provided to the right candidate.
Hours of Work: 14 Hours per week
Rate of pay: $25.95 – $29.76
