CLASSIFICATION: Children Who Witness Abuse Counsellor

PROGRAM: PEACE Program

LOCATION: Fort St John, BC

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a related /social service field. Two years recent related experience, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Start date is June 3, 2024 and employment offer is valid until current incumbent returns from leave of employment.

Duties

Ability to provide counselling, education and advocacy support to children age 3-18 who have witnessed domestic violence. Provide emotional and parenting support for parents regarding the impact on their children of witnessing violence. Develop and conduct psycho-educational support groups for children. Ability to operate a PC and related software.

Vehicle Use

You must have a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license.

Hourly Rate

$37.18 - $48.04

This is a unionized position with the BCGEU and is open to all applicants. Applicants will not be discriminated against on the basis of age, sex, race, or religion.
