Position Title:                        Youth Outreach Worker

Location:                                Dawson Creek and surrounding area including Pouce Coupe

Qualifications:                       Diploma in Child and Youth Care, or a comparable Diploma in another

                                                Human Services Discipline.  1-year related experience or equivalent

                                                combination of education and work experience may be considered.

                                                Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.

                                                Computer literacy.

Duties:                                    Identifies client problems, needs, and risks.  Supports youth to engage in services to increase their physical and emotional safety and well-being.  Plans and provides support to youth to connect with activities and resources within the community and culturally relevant activities for positive youth engagement.  Provides positive interactions through outreach work with youth between 13 -18 years of age with a focus on vulnerable youth who are not connected to services.  Service delivery area is Dawson Creek and surrounding areas including Pouce Coupe. 

Other Job Information:         The Youth Outreach Worker will have access to

                                                a roadworthy program vehicle.  Must possess a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license.

                                                Ability to operate a PC and related application software programs.

Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on

the client’s needs and time availability of the clients therefore some

evening and weekend work is likely. 

Hours of Work:                      35 hours per week.

Vehicle Use:                          Transports youth using program vehicle when required.Must have a Class 5 BC driver’s license.

Hourly Rate:                          Grid level 11 $27.54 – 31.61 per hour according to experience

Start Date:                              October 14, 2025

This is a unionized position with the BCGEU.
